Commerce Ranks High For Use Of Capital

Commerce Bancshares ranks ninth on a list of best users of capital published by Bank Director magazine and Sandler O’Neill + Partners.

The rankings took into account profitability and capital strength, both weighted equally. Specifically, banks are ranked based on core return on tangible common equity and the ratio of tangible common equity to tangible assets. The scores are for eight consecutive quarters through June 2012.

Commerce, which is based in Kansas City and operates Commerce Bank, was the only bank based in Kansas or Missouri to make the list.
