Missouri Legislators To Begin Debate on Medicaid Expansion, Overhaul

The Medicaid debate will surface in the Legislature on several fronts this week.
Some House Republicans want to reshape Missouri’s Medicaid program to require patients to assume more “personal responsibility” for their health care. And a House committee will will hold a hearing today on a Democratic proposal to expand Medicaid eligibility, paid in full by the federal government for the first three years, phasing down to 90 percent after that.
