Online Pricing Platform Takes Top Prize At Health Care Innovation Event

eLuminate Health, a Kansas City-based company with an online platform designed to bring transparency to health care prices and quality, won the $15,000 grand prize at the inaugural Hackovate Health innovation competition Thursday night in Kansas City.

The contest, sponsored by Kansas City accounting giant H&R Block and early-stage business incubator Think Big Partners, was designed to bring innovators, entrepreneurs, health care professionals and other industry leaders together to pitch ideas designed to transform the health care industry.

Companies based in Dublin and California were awarded runner-up prizes, and a Miami company won the Google Fiber People’s Choice Award after receiving a majority of the public vote.
