KC Chamber, Hospital Supporting Health Tax Extension

Proponents of the Kansas City health levy, including the Chamber of Commerce, gathered at Truman Medical Center to launch their campaign to urge voters to vote yes to extend the tax during the April 2 election. The levy based on property value generates about $15 million each year and provides funding for ambulance and emergency medical services, as well as hospital and public health purposes. Advocates say it helps offset the costs of uninsured and underinsured patients while keeping health care costs down for the entire community.
