Highway, Bridge Construction Work Slows In Missouri

The value of contracts for highway and bridge construction work in Missouri dropped 23 percent last year to $85.6 million, according to a study of McGraw Hill Construction data conducted by the American Road & Transportation Builders Association. Data from the ARTBA said 25.5 percent, or 7,805 miles, of Missouri’s highways are in need of repair or resurfacing and 26.1 percent, or 6,368, of its bridges are either “structurally deficient” or “functionally obsolete.”
