Ford Van Getting Built In KC Makes Local Debut

The Ford Transit van, to be built at the company’s Claycomo plant, is making its first appearance in Kansas City this week at an auto show. Ford executives and Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon joined the ceremony. The van triggered a $1.1 billion investment in the Claycomo plant, where it is expected to add 1,600 jobs. Ford will begin selling it in the U.S. early next year. The plant also makes the F-150 pickup.
