Baldwin Men’s Shop owner Matt Baldwin will be bringing Kansas City fashion worldwide starting in October, with the help of GQ magazine and The Gap.

April’s issue of GQ — which hit newsstands Thursday — recognizes Baldwin, whose company makes luxury denim and other apparel, as one of the country’s four best new menswear designers. As a winner, Baldwin will design an exclusive 12-piece collection to be sold through The Gap in 200 cities around the world.

“It will be KC worldwide,” Baldwin said of his collection.

“To be able to shine a light back on the city I love is very exciting,” he added. “To me it just proves the entrepreneurial spirit of Kansas City is alive and thriving.”
