Sprint Cuts Marketing, Focuses On Network Improvements

Kansas City-based Sprint Nextel Corp. told investors it has pulled back on marketing and messaging recently, which a telecommunications analyst said is a good strategy “for now,” while it has more pressing issues on its plate, including a $20.1 billion merger with SoftBank Corp. and a nationwide overhaul of Sprint’s 4G LTE network that’s been running behind schedule.
