Monsanto And DuPont Cut Licensing Deal That Ends Lawsuits

Agribusiness giants Monsanto and DuPont Pioneer agreed on Tuesday to drop dueling lawsuits against each other over patent infringement and antitrust violations. The agreement will allow for DuPont to license St. Louis-based Monsanto’s genetically modified Roundup Ready soybean technology starting next year. Dupont will then pay Monsanto a total of $802 million in royalty payments over three years for access to certain genetic traits and data.
