Venture Capital Conference Starts Wednesday In Kansas City

Representatives from 44 potential high-growth companies from around the country will converge on Kansas City on Wednesday in hopes of making a good impression on venture capitalists and other investors.

The business owners will be making presentations during the two-day InvestMidwest Venture Capital Forum, which will run through Thursday at the Westin Crown Center hotel. As many as 70 venture capital firms are expected to attend the 14th annual event.

The startup companies are involved in three broad industry categories – life sciences; information technology and general business; and, for the first time, food, agriculture and bioenergy.
