Kansas Casino Cuts Into Missouri Gambling Revenue

Missouri gaming revenue fell 2 percent in 2012 because the new casino in Kansas City, Kan., took business from other gambling halls in the Kansas City area, a report finds.

The report released Thursday by RubinBrown, an accounting firm and business consultant, said overall revenue in the Kansas City gaming market rose 8 percent in 2012 but that the growth took place in Kansas, where a Hollywood Casino opened at the Kansas Speedway, in Kansas City, Kan.
