Speakers Criticize Concentrated Feeding Operations

Concentrated animal feeding operations, or “factory farms,” aren’t economically efficient for farmers who operate them and do not actually increase food production, a retired professor and sustainable agriculture activist said during a symposium at the University of Missouri.

A hog farmer who served as the moderator said it’s important to think about future generations when considering farming practices.
