Law Enforcement Groups Back Medicaid Expansion

Three prominent state law enforcement groups — the Missouri Police Chiefs Association, Missouri Fraternal Order of Police and the executive board of the Missouri Sheriffs Association — have put their weight behind the push for Medicaid expansion in the state.

The groups said expansion is necessary because it will improve access to treatment for individuals with mental illnesses, which benefits public safety. However, the prospect of Missouri legislators approving Medicaid expansion during the current legislative session appears to be growing increasingly unlikely.
