Adarza Biosystems, a New York-based life sciences company, will expand its product development and manufacturing to St. Louis as part of a financing deal that includes investment from the BioGenerator, the St. Louis Arch Angels and private investors.
Adarza is an early stage medical diagnostic company. Its proprietary, chip-based technology has commercial applications ranging from at-home diagnostics to drug and vaccine development and infectious disease research. The company has hired a vice president of business development in St. Louis and plans to fill six scientific and technical jobs there this year.
This marks the second time in recent months an out-of-state company has been drawn to St. Louis by the BioGenerator, the venture development arm of BioSTL. In February, Tansna Therapeutics announced plans to relocate to the area from Iowa.
