Dish Ads Promote Sprint Bid
Advertisements placed in the Kansas City area are promoting Dish Network’s bid to acquire Overland Park-based Sprint Nextel Corp. Sprint had no role in the promotion, though its yellow logo appears next to to the Dish logo in the ad at Kansas City.com. Sprint has been quiet since Monday, when the Colorado-based satellite television service offered $25.5 billion for the nation’s No. 3 wireless phone company. Analysts have said a bidding war with Tokyo-based Softbank Corp. is possible.
