Nixon: Ford Shows Faith In Missouri Workers

Gov. Jay Nixon said the news that Ford Motor Co. will create 2,000 jobs at its Kansas City Assembly Plant in Claycomo should say something about the importance of the Missouri operation to the rebirth of the automobile industry. The union and Ford agreed to the lower tier of wages in the latest contract. It was not without controversy within the union, but the company said it would add jobs in the U.S. if the lower wages were adopted for new workers.
