Grundfos Pumps will move its North American headquarters from Olathe, Kan. to Downers Grove, Ill. this summer. The Danish company, which is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of water pumps, says it’s making the move to be closer to the hub of the U.S. water industry in Chicago.
Grundfos CEO Jes Munk Hansen and a couple of the company’s other top execs will relocate to the new office, but the rest of Grundfos’ local jobs will not be affected. The firm plans to keep its U.S. national sales headquarters in Olathe along with human resources, custom service and marketing operations. Grundfos still owns 14 acres in suburban Kansas City that it purchased with plans for a construction project, but a company spokeswoman said there’s no set timetable for development of that property.
