Jefferson City Expects Boost From New Health Care Facilities

Three major health care entities in Jefferson City made moves in developing new facilities recently. Hospital and economic development officials expect the expansion to boost the regional economy and make the community more attractive.

Jefferson City Medical Group opened its new Women and Children’s Center last week. St. Mary’s Health Center is building a new $200 million facility that will open in 2015. Capital Region Medical Center announced last month that it plans to break ground this fall on a 115,000-square-foot addition that’s also set to open in 2015. These projects are designed not only to increase local employment, but to attract patients and human resources from other areas.
