St. Louis, KC Fast-Food Workers Join Nationwide Strike

St. Louis and Kansas City are among at least eight cities nationwide where fast-food workers are walking off the job this week as part of a campaign for higher wages.

Less than two months after workers walked out of dozens of St. Louis-area fast-food restaurants in May, a new round of strikes started today. Strike organizers, who seek higher wages and better working conditions for fast-food workers, said beforehand there could be walkouts at as many as 50 St. Louis stores. A rally is planned for Tuesday afternoon at Kiener Plaza in downtown St. Louis.
