Unilever Jobs Safe For Now After $580 Million Sale Of Wish-Bone

Unilever North America will sell the Wish-Bone salad dressings brand to Pinnacle Foods for $580 million, affecting nearly 200 jobs at its Independence plant, which produces all the liquid and dry-mix salad dressings under the Wish-Bone and Western brands.

Unilever and Pinnacle reached a third-party manufacturing agreement for Unilever to continue producing the salad dressings for the next 18 to 24 months, which saves the plant’s 200 jobs for now and buys time to explore options to keep the plant busy after the contract expires.
