State Approves Express Scripts Tax Incentives

The Missouri Development of Finance Board approved $6.8 million in bonds to help Express Scripts finance the construction of a 225,000-square-foot building. Express Scripts, the nation’s largest pharmacy benefit manager, says its expansion in suburban St. Louis, which could add more than 1,000 jobs, hinges on the approval of tax incentives at both the state and county level. Express Scripts now awaits final passage of tax incentive legislation from St. Louis County before moving forward with ground breaking. The county will pledge nearly $9.2 million in real estate, personal property and sales tax abatements.
