Kansas City’s Stinson Morrison Hecker LLP announced it will merge with Minneapolis-based Leonard Street and Deinard to form a 529-person firm with offices in 14 cities.
Beginning Jan. 1, the combined firm — with 321 attorneys from Stinson and another 208 from Leonard Street — will begin operations as Stinson Leonard Street LLP with its headquarters functions dispersed across multiple offices. Mark Hinderks, current managing partner for Stinson, will act as co-managing partner alongside Leonard Street’s managing partner. Hinderks said in an interview that both firms shared similar financial success in 2012 and began merger discussions earlier this year. Based on National Law Journal rankings, the firm is on track to be among the nation’s 75 largest law firms.
