Government Shutdown Might Put Boeing Employees On Temporary Leave

Some of Boeing’s 15,000 full-time employees in St. Louis might be furloughed if the government shutdown is not soon resolved.

Company spokesman Dan Beck told Bloomberg in an email that an undetermined number of workers could be told to stay home as early as this week.

Beck pointed to stop-work orders, limited access to federal resources, cuts in funding and a dearth of government inspectors as contributors to the temporary staff reduction.
