The first retail project in Lenexa’s City Center development is underway. Renner 89, a 20,000-square-foot, two-story mixed-use building will house retail and restaurant space on the ground floor and a conference center and meeting rooms for Shawnee-based Perceptive Software LLC on the second floor.

The structure is being built by Omaha-based construction firm Darland Construction Co., which opened an office in Lenexa last year. Construction of the building’s concrete foundation is already complete, and vertical construction will start soon. Officials said the building is slated for completion next spring, in conjunction with the new 240,000-square-foot Perceptive Software headquarters, which will anchor the new commercial and residential development in Lenexa.
