A 350,000-square-foot building is being constructed in the KCI Intermodal BusinessCentre, an 800-acre commercial and industrial park on the sprawling Kansas City International airport property. The building is designed primarily for industrial, light-manufacturing or warehouse and distribution use and is expected to be finished next April, but there is no tenant.

The first building constructed at the BusinessCentre was completed in January 2012 for Blount International, a manufacturer of saws, blades and other cutting equipment that serves as the Oregon company’s distribution center for North American operations.
The park, which is being developed by Trammell Crow Co. and Clarion Partners, is intended to attract more investment and development at the airport property
