A-B InBev’s 3Q Profits Up 20 Percent

Anheuser-Busch InBev reported revenue of $11.7 billion for the third quarter, up 14 percent from the $10.3 billion it reported in the third quarter of 2012, driven up the addition of new brands from its $20 billion acquisition of Grupo Modelo. The company reported profit of $2.8 billion, up 20.8 percent from the $2.3 billion reported in the prior-year quarter.

Budweiser led the the company’s product portfolio in growth, growing 8.1 percent globally with strong gains in China, Brazil and the United Kingdom. The Corona brand grew 3.7 percent in the quarter, due to strong sales in Mexico and exports to markets outside the United States.
