“Fewer than 115” of Sprint Corp.’s 3,000-member business-sales staff were notified that their jobs were being eliminated and their last day of work will be Nov. 22, a spokeswoman for the company based in Overland Park, Kan. said.
The cutbacks are coming throughout the sales group’s national footprint. Services provided by Sprint’s business sales group include technical assistance, support and strategies for business clients. The company said the cutback was designed to make the operation more efficient and bring the company’s costs closer to its financial goals.
In early October, Sprint promoted Matt Carter to be president of the company’s enterprise solutions business as part of a reshuffling in sales and marketing.
