Midwest Regional Bank is suing the city of Clayton due to new zoning regulations.

The bank purchased a half-acre of land in the city during September 2012 to build a new branch.  In June, the city created a new district in the vicinity of the bank’s land. The new district would prohibit Midwest Regional Bank from opening a new branch, “unless 50 percent of the banking facility’s ground floor was made available for occupancy by other retail vendors.”

The suit was filed in St. Louis County Circuit Court.
