Terry Dunn is stepping down from his role as CEO of Kansas City-based JE Dunn Construction, and Gordon Lansford III will become the company’s new — and first non-Dunn — chief executive. A member of the Dunn family has run the company for almost 90 years.
Lansford has been the JE Dunn’s CFO for 15 years and worked at the company for 17 years. He said he believes his primary role is to “build our strategy and build our people.” Lansford said he expects JE Dunn’s revenue to increase 10 percent, to $2.5 billion in 2014 from $2.25 billion in 2013.
The change is part of a strategic transition plan developed by JE Dunn’s board, which wanted to give the company a younger leader who’s familiar with the values of the Dunn family.
Terry Dunn will maintain his role as CEO of JE Dunn Construction Group, the parent company. Dunn’s father, William Dunn, is chairman emeritus of JE Dunn. His brother, Steve Dunn, is chairman.
