Lutheran Senior Services has submitted plans to state regulators for the first phase of a $60 million senior living community in Lake St. Louis. The $19 million first phase will feature a five-story, 80,000-square-foot building that houses 80 beds.

A St. Louis-based nonprofit that manages senior living facilities, Lutheran senior services has six such communities in the St. Louis area and one apiece in Columbia and Jefferson City.

If the Lake St. Louis project receives approval from state health regulators in March, construction could begin as soon as 2016 and the facility could open by early 2018. No timeline has been announced for the completion of the other phases of the project.
