Tribune Closes On $2.7 Billion Deal Including St. Louis, KC Stations

Tribune Co. on Friday closed on its $2.7 billion acquisition of Local TV Holdings LLC. The purchase, from New York-based private equity firm Oak Hill Capital partners, includes KTVI (Channel 2) in St. Louis and WDAF (Channel 4) in Kansas City, along with 14 other television stations.

KPLR (Channel 11) in St. Louis is also a Tribune station.

The company now owns 39 television stations across the country and will provide services to three other former Local TV stations. Tribune is the No. 1 affiliate group in the country for both Fox and the CW.
