Northwest Pipe Co., based in Vancouver, Wash., announced Thursday that it acquired the St. Louis-based Permalok Corporation, which is a fabricator of steel piping. Terms of sale were not disclosed.
Northwest Pipe produces steel pipes for water transportation, and Permalok produces a patented interlocking pipe joining system.
“With the acquisition of Permalok, we are positioned to better serve our customer requirements with an expanded product offering,” Scott Montross, president and CEO of Northwest Pipe, said in a release. “Furthermore, we feel the Permalok product has a wider market potential by offering a lower cost solution compared to existing products.”
Permalok will continue to operate its St. Louis and Salt Lake City manufacturing facilities as Permalok Corp., a Northwest Pipe Co.
