Sprint Corp. has told employees to expect an unspecified number of job cuts in the first half of the year, including management and non-management positions from “across the country.”

The Overland Park, Kan.-based wireless carrier attributed the reductions to “greater efficiencies” achieved through “simpler pricing plans and improved customer service.” Sprint also attributed the cuts to “changing marketplace dynamics and changes in the product and services sold primarily to business customers.”

The company announced in August that it would cut about 800 jobs. It later said that about 50 of the positions cut were in Overland Park.
