Washington University Professor Files Suit Against Square

A Washington University professor filed a lawsuit against Square Inc. on Thursday. Robert Morley, an associate professor in Washington University’s engineering department, is suing the co-founders of Square, St. Louis natives Jack Dorsey and Jim McKelvey.

Square makes hardware that plugs into mobile devices and allows them to process credit card transactions.

According to the suit, Morley alleges breach of fiduciary duty, patent infringement, unjust enrichment and fraud. The amount of damages being sought is unspecified.
