KCI Saw Slight Dip In Passengers In 2013

The number of passengers who flew to and from Kansas City International Airport dropped 1.1 percent, to about 10 million, in 2013, according to the monthly traffic report from the Kansas City Aviation Department.

Despite the overall decrease for the year, the December holiday travel season brought a 10.3 percent spike in traffic compared to the year before. KCI saw 819,480 passengers arrive and depart during December 2013.

The report also said KCI’s air cargo tonnage increased 5.1 percent in December and 2.7 percent for the year.
