Autism Services Provider Hiring 150 In St. Louis Area

Easter Seals Midwest, a nonprofit provider of autism services and assistance to those with developmental disabilities, has opened three new offices in the St. Louis area and plans to hire more than 150 employees in the next four months. CEO Wendy Sullivan said most of the new jobs will be in its community living services segment, which helps individuals with developmental disabilities to live independently.

The Ballwin-based company is funded by state and federal governments, as well as corporate contributors such as Charter, Covidien and Lockton. Easter Seals Midwest has an operating budget of $40 million and 1,300 employees, and serves more than 4,200 individuals in Missouri. In addition to community living services, Easter Seals Midwest formerly known as Life Skills, also provides autism services and employment services.
