Winter Weather Slows Regional Manufacturing Activity

Colder temperatures coupled with lots of ice and snow were to blame for slower manufacturing activity in February in a seven-state region that includes Missouri, according to a report from the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City. The Fed’s monthly manufacturing index for February read 4. That’s down from January’s 5 and up from December’s -3.

Although the gauge was positive for February, many businesses reported delays and slowdowns.
