Health Insurance Market Recruiters Targeting Small Businesses

The owners of many small businesses are unable to offer their employees health coverage, and groups in Missouri that help consumers sign up for coverage through the federal marketplace are targeting them. The city of St. Louis sent out about 2,300 letters to small businesses, encouraging owners to talk to their employees about insurance and schedule an informational session with the city. Federally qualified health centers are also actively seeking small businesses to educate. Most individuals who do not select an insurance plan by March 31 will face a tax penalty.
