Manufacturer To Expand In St. Louis With Technology Center

Watlow Electric Manufacturing Co. plans to expand its headquarters to develop a technology center, a project that would cost about $30 million and add at least 50 jobs at one of the St. Louis area’s largest privately held companies. The project is contingent upon tax incentives from St. Louis County and the state of Missouri.

With the Advanced Technology Center, Watlow hopes to solve some of the problems vexing the thermal manufacturing industry. CEO and Chairman Peter Desloge said research and development happens on a fragmented basis at Watlow’s 12 manufacturing facilities around the world. Desloge said it made sense to create a hub for that work.
