The family of a Columbia firefighter who died when a University Village walkway collapsed in February filed a wrongful-death lawsuit against the UM System Board of Curators. The firefighter was killed after responding to a call about a structural emergency in the building. He was searching for trapped residents when part of the walkway collapsed beneath him.
