$60 Million Data Center Opens In Kansas City

LightEdge Solutions, a cloud computing, co-location and managed services company based in Des Moines, has opened its new $60 million data center with 21 employees at the Subtropolis underground business park in Kansas City. Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon is scheduled to attend a ribbon-cutting event today at the 60,000-square-foot operation.

Hunt Midwest Real Estate Development officials expect the first phase of the Suptropolis technology center to provide 1.4 million square feet of space for new tenants. LightEdge is owned by the Anschutz Corp., which is controlled by Denver billionaire Phil Anschutz. His entertainment subsidiary. Anschutz Entertainment Group, manages the Sprint Center.
