Red Nova Labs, a marketing and web technology company based in Westwood, Kan., emerged as the winner last month after weeks of voting in KCSourceLink’s Battle of the Brands, defeating top-seeded opponent Sporting Kansas City in the championship round.
Katelyn Wyss, a marketing coordinator for Red Nova Labs, said the key to winning the tournament this year was creativity within social media and creating posts that truly engaged with the audience. Wyss said it was important to create posts that were visually attractive and worth “sharing” on all social media platforms.
KCSourceLink, which works to connect entrepreneurs and small business owners to resources for their companies, ran the Battle of the Brands. Winners in the 64-company contest were determined through online public voting.
