Boeing Ventures, the business accelerator under the company’s St. Louis-based Defense, Space & Security unit, is moving into the @4240 building in the Cortex innovation district, officials announced Monday.
The accelerator, which has 20 employees and has been operating for several years, helps identify employees within the company who may have ideas that have potential for commercialization.
John Dubinsky, chairman of Cortex, said landing Boeing was a big win for the 200-acre innovation district that eventually plans to build out $2.1 billion in development and $100 million in public infrastructure.
Cortex also welcomed Manifest Digital, a Chicago-based digital creative agency, to the building Friday. Manifest Digital has roughly 40 employees in St. Louis already and plans to add about a dozen more upon completing the move.
