Schreiber Foods plans to expand its plant in Carthage and add 160 new jobs. Schreiber, a Green Bay, Wis.-based dairy company, confirmed the expansion and said it would be complete by late spring or early summer in 2015. Jobs will be added over a three-year period, with the average wage being $17.50 per hour.

A Schreiber representative said some of the new positions will be filled by workers currently employed at the company’s plant in Clinton, which is closing.

The Carthage Enhanced Enterprise Zone Committee last week approved tax breaks for the project, which will include the construction of about 29,000 square feet of new space and the repurposing of about 67,000 square feet of existing space.
