KCI Advisory Board Reverses Course, Will Make Recommendation

The Mayor’s KCI Advisory Board, led by co-chairs Dave Fowler and Bob Berkebile, will make a recommendation on May 7 regarding which option it thinks the city should pursue for Kansas City International Airport.

The group  has considered three options: expanding and repurposing existing terminals; building a new central terminal and repurposing others; and building a single terminal. Another alternative is rehabilitating the existing facility.

The announcement of an impending decision marks a reversal of course for the group; earlier this month, the board suggested it didn’t have enough information to recommend a specific option.
