New Home Permits Up In St. Louis

Home building in St. Louis continued its rebound in March, with new home permits up 11 percent over last year.

Year-to-date figures from the Home Builders Association of St. Louis show that construction is running 6 percent over the previous year thus far, as St. Louis continued to defy a nationally weaker home construction market

The Commerce Department says that national sales of new homes declined 14.5 percent in March to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 384,000, the second straight monthly decline and the lowest rate since July 2013.
