Arch Project Funding Drive Moves To Public Phase

The CityArchRiver 2015 Foundation has raised more than $178 million in private funding for the Gateway Arch grounds renovation project, and now has entered the public phase of its fundraising efforts. The private funds raised so far come primarily from corporations, foundations and individual donors and comprise 71 percent of the foundation’s $250 million goal, officials said.

Among the lead donors is the Taylor family, owners of car rental giant Enterprise Holdings, which extended a challenge match to the campaign and whose support foundation officials credited with helping raise more than $73 million since mid-November.
