TopGolf International Inc. will open its 20th golf entertainment center worldwide in Overland Park, and the company said its economic output in the Kansas City area has been estimated by a third-party audit at $264.5 million over a 10-year period.
ARCO/Murray National Construction Co. will begin work on the 65,000-square-foot facility next month, and opening is scheduled for spring 2015. A TopGolf official said this will be a multimillion-dollar project, without specifying the cost. The three-level facility will include up to 3,000 square feet of private event space and 102 indoor hitting bays that can fit up to six players at a time. A company executive estimates that Topgolf Kansas City will attract about 450,000 visitors in its first year of operation.
