St. Louis County Streamlines Project Permitting Process

In an effort to boost economic development, St. Louis County and the Metropolitan Sewer District have agreed to jointly use an expanded software system to cooperate in issuing project permits. Electronic plan submissions, mobile inspections and document tracking are aspects of the plan. The expanded Accela software solution is expected to be in operation next year. Officials said that approach could allow cities, fire districts and other permitting agencies in St. Louis County to simplify and expedite information flow.

The president of Associated General Contractors of St. Louis said the collaboration will eliminate difficult permitting as a roadblock to regional growth.
