Ballpark Village Competitors Report Slowed Business

Two months after opening, Ballpark Village, St. Louis’ $100 million sports-centric development near Busch Stadium, seems to be taking business away from other area establishments.

Some competitors located in areas surrounding the new complex have reported layoffs and hour cuts as a result of fewer customers. Flying Saucer Draught Emporium, for example, said business dropped as much as 25 percent in the year since the complex has been built.

Ballpark Village supports 1,200 full-time and part-time jobs, and the complex is expected to have more than 6 million visitors in its first year.
